中国钢铁集团(CISC) 主席 邓崎琳(武钢集团董事长) 在国内某公司投资国外某矿业44.65%股权(该矿每年出产之矿砂石足够装满 350艘18万砘之海岬型干散船)之后发表谈话-中国将提高国内生产及国外投资矿业去切断对进口矿砂石的依赖. 预测五年后中国矿砂石的进口量将减到目前之 33%. (图1).
CHINA TO CUT RELIANCE ON OVERSEAS ORE
Rising domestic production and direct investments overseas will likely take a bite out of the demand for foreign controlled resources.
China is beginning to reduce its reliance on shipments of foreign controlled iron-ore, according to the boss of the organisation that represents domestic steel mills,
Deng Qilin, chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), was speaking after one Chinese company signed a deal that will see it control 44.65% of an overseas mine. It will produce enough iron ore to fill 350 Capesize vessels on an annual basis.
Deng also warned overseas mining players that while imports increased by 4.1% in the first half of 2010, as compared to the same period last year, domestic production also surged by 17%.
He reiterated the CISA’s call to domestic steel manufacturers to decrease their foreign iron-ore consumption and claimed that importers could operate in 2015 with just one-third of the current levels of shipments.
He said this aim could be achieved by domestic mines boosting output and steel producers investing overseas.
“To boost China’s pricing power for iron-ore imports and ensure a healthy development of the steel industry, we must make full use of both domestic and overseas resources,” said Deng, who is also the General manager of Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO).
WISCO has been one of the most active buyers of overseas reserves of iron-ore as it attempts to decrease its reliance on the big three mining groups-Vale of Brazil, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto Group of Australia.
The trio, which account for three-quarters of global trade, have experienced a frosty relationship with Chinese steel mills recently since they dropped a 40-year tradition of setting annual prices and raised rates.

1. -青島与日照市之间的董家口将兴建我国第一大深水港口, 码头岸线长29公里, 水深15-20米, 建造112个泊位包括6个40万吨矿砂石和45万吨VLCC, 工程分3个5年进行, 完成后吞吐量达 3.7亿万吨. 第一个40万吨矿砂石泊位今年年底开始试用. (图 2 & 3).
