中国希腊船贷基金会是2010年温家宝总理访问希腊后所成立. Dryships所获1.2258亿美金贷款来自该基金.
Dryships wraps up first all-Chinese loan facility to finance three bulkers
George Economou led Dryships has signed the first ever syndicated shipping transaction between Chinese banks without the involvement of any Western bank.
The $122.58m loan will partially finance a trio of 206,000-dwt bulkers under construction at Shanghai Jiangnan-Changxing for delivery in 2013 and 2014.
Dryships acquired the new building contracts when it bought out OceanFreight in November.
Greece’s XRTC Business consultants, shipping consultant to the China Development Bank Corp (CDB) was project advisor on the loan, which is part of the $5bn Sino-Greek Shipping Finance Special Scheme that was announced by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao during a visit to Greece in October 2010.
The scheme aims to deepen the co-operation between the two nations in shipbuilding, overseas transport and port construction, says Zhao Yanzheng, general manager of the CDB/Ningxia branch.

MSC leads drive to switch bigger ships to transpacific
Some of the largest containerships to date are being deployed on the transpacific trades.
The move comes as lines are attempting to push up freight rates in the sector.
The drive to larger ships is being spearheaded by Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC), which is introducing a 12,500-teu vessel, the 12,552-teu MSC Fabiola (built 2010), on its Pearl River Express service.
Analyst Alphaliner says it is the largest boxship ever deployed on the transpacific and could be the first of many. It says the largest deployed to date are the Margrethe Maersk-class ships, which have a capacity of 10,000 teu.
The two ships were previously used on MSC’s Asia-Europe services. They have been cascaded onto the transpacific as the owner takes delivery of vessels of between 13,000 and 14,000 teu.
Vessel cascading is expected to continue in the coming months. Analysts say operators of 6,000-teu to 9,000-teu ships that had been deployed on the Asia-Europe trades are also being transferred to the transpacific. The move threatens rates in the sector at a time when lines are negotiating with shippers for the next 12-month contracts.
